During our first checkups, it was revealed to us that there were some minor complications in the pregnancy wherein there was some bleeding inside my wife and the baby wasn't hooked tightly on the lining and the bleeding was evident in the ultrasound scan.
This caused quite an alarm for us and Bernice was then advised to do a full bed-rest for 2 weeks straight getting out of bed just to go to the restroom.
This "threatened abortion" as it is known, is when ignored, can lead to more complications and worst is losing the baby in the process. This is why our doctor was very strict on what and what not to do during this period.
It's a bad situation to be in but it is not as grave if you just follow the doctors orders.
We were then... um well, just Berns, prescribed medicines to make the baby hang on tightly on to the lining inside to make sure the first trimester pushes through without any problem.
The first trimester is always the most crucial and usually once you're into the 2nd, you can already somehow breathe a sigh of relief that all is well when you're actually in it!
True enough, after some good ol' bedrest, We found Bernice back out again and able to walk around free from any worry, which was the greatest :)
